for a friend...

Happy Friday!
 Today's share is a tag I made for a faraway friend,Germany,in fact.
I am speaking of Valerie of the blog,Bastelmania.
Valerie's blog has such inspiring posts, where she shares her artwork and her life travels.
If you have never been to her blog,do pop in to say hello and see what she is up to!
I wanted to make sure Valerie received her package before I posted,
and so she has and so here it is.

I am sharing these close ups so you can see all the yummy texture of this background.

DecoArt used to make this product called "Paper Perfect". I have had mine so long I can't even tell you when it was discontinued.
(and, yes! the product is still good!)
It really is too bad they no longer make it,because it is so cool to work with.

After gessoing the tag I spread the Paper Perfect all over and off some of the edges of the tag. This product is pulpy;if you have ever made your own paper or even left newsprint in water too long, you might have an idea of what I mean.
While the PaperPerfect was still wet,I spritzed my spray colors onto my craft mat, added some water and then painted into the wet pulp as watercolors.
The wet pulp made the colors blend and bleed even more, giving a real neat effect.
Frida was stamped separately and added when the tag was dry.
To this I added dried flowers and petals, both as her head piece and for her bodice.
Next, I added the perfect (in my opinion)heart and wings piece from RetroCafeArt Gallery.
Also added, were yarn for hanging and the tiny sugar skull.
The edges were embossed with a dark purple embossing powder.
At the bottom, I used a couple of skeleton leaves with some vintage flowers, and then finally adding the banner "Fearless"
This tag represents two Fearless women, Frida and Valerie.
Both women have had many struggles and still lead/lead very colorful lives. I applaud them both!
I am happy to say that Valerie loves her tag as much as I loved creating it for her!
 hugs to you my friend!xx
Thank you so much for joining me today and hope to see you again soon with some"life around here" posts.
Spring has sprung and we have been busy!

'beautiful adventure' Journal page

More journal play today~
Stamping out one of Lynne Perrella's ladies, I cut off her bottom and added a mermaid tail fin from Laura Carson

This all started out when I pulled a jar of paint out to use and found that it had turned thick! Well, it was still pliable as I pulled it from the jar, and I could not bring myself to throw it away! Hoarder!

So what I did was take those blobs of paint and spread them onto my page for texture.
here you can see the beautiful mica pigment that came out of the blob once i added some water and pulled the color across the page
I added some circles I cut with my new die and could not bear to throw away the wax paper rings that came out with my cuts,so I added those as well, topped with Liquidglass
stenciled here with some clear embossing paste using sealife stencils. Also added chipboard seaweeds and sea life strip across the bottom.
finally,I added my 'beautiful adventure' die cuts
Hoping your Sunday morning is as beautiful as mine is
thank you for your visit

a bit of Marie extravagance and more fun!

Today I have the Marie shrines to share
that Sherie and I made on our visit a few weeks ago.
Sherie's is the gorgeous Marie in pink on the left,
along with her vintage jewels and gold lion.

And the Marie in Monet Blue on the right is mine.
As you may know,Marie was all about the glitter and gold and the latest fashions!
Some say that "Fashion" was born in France,
along with Marie,Louie and their court.
and as for the most popular"Let them Eat Cake" phrase,Marie actually never said that of the peasants; although she might have thought it!
We still like to imagine she did and love to add sweet cakes and desserts to her array of treasures!

the bits and bobs used are from various places and came from my hoard stash!
These shrines were such fun to make as I love working in miniature and also playing with paper dolls!
💜💜Thanks again Sherie for all the wonderful playtime! 💜💜
Hope you enjoyed the share of Marie extravagance,
now go Eat some Cake!!

Next up to share is a beautiful pin,an artist friend created and sent to me~Sue Marrazzo~
Sue is a mixed media artist and teacher and does some of the most gorgeous canvases!
I have added her link below

and finally for today...
This fab package of goodies I received in the mail from another artist friend and blogger Brenda Brown.
Brenda had a giveaway on her blog recently and I was the lucky random draw for this Tim Holtz die!
Not only did she send my prize but all the other goodies in the photo above... and
she included this gorgeous tag she created!
Thank you Brenda~I just LOVE it!!

So happy you came by today~
I do hope you had a pleasant visit!
hugs,
