If you were wondering what happened to me,we left for an extended camping trip where there was no internet-so I was unplugged for awhile, and it was ever so refreshing!
Today's post is photos, and lots of them,so if you dare...
grab a cuppa and relax!
our set up
the hill behind our site-filled with glorious pines!
I did a bit of artwork while away...
a nature journal I am working on...
Chum and me hamming it up!
wind chimes my son,Lindsey sent me for Mother's day
Chum goes swimming
Chum and Riley rock climbing!
love the smell of campfire!
this plant is called a Lady Slipper-just gorgeous!
and finally
Before we left,Paloma the dove of peace arrived at our home.
Life was a bit upended at that time,so instead of photographing her at home,Paloma came camping with us.
Paloma was started by sweet Lys in France,as a Peace ambassador to visit the world through blogging friends.
Lys,Paloma's creator began this journey shortly after the horror of the attack on Paris almost two years ago: in Lys' words...
After the shock, the anger, the nausea ... what to say, what to do?I have only weapons made of paper and words ... I can face violence only with my values and beliefs.Freedom and peace are the ones I Wished to give today. So this is Paloma, my little dove single paper.
If you would like to be included in her travels, please contact Lys at her blog... ImpressionScrap
or to follow her Where is Paloma
After trying many spots to rest...
Paloma landed in the soft pines for her final photo before heading out in the post to the UK and to visit Brenda Brown of Bumblebees and Butterflies
If you hung in till the end...you are the best! heehee
Thank you so very much for your visit and comments.
I will be back regularly posting and visiting again in a few days!

What a beautiful peaceful place, it must've been such a bliss to stay there and rest. Unplugging is something I plan on doing this summer as well .... I LOVE the wind chimes your son gifted you, so colourful! And the story of Paloma ... what a beautiful idea! I love all the different places you let her rest :-) Going to take a look at Lys'blog now ... Have a great rest of the week Jackie! hugs xxx

Oh my word, what a glorious place to spend your vacation, and lovely to see that peaceful Paloma spread her wings to travel with you. Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful photos. Trapped in the heat and noise of NYC at present, so I'm definitely envious!

Wow, I love that you hosted the Paloma story...to see the dove flying in such a peaceful part of nature made me feel so joyful and good. The photos are glorious and I must admit I am very, very jealous. Hi Chum. Hi Riley. Cheers, hugs and LOVE!
What a fabulous holiday destination Jackie, just my cup of tea with so much wonderful natural environment to climb and walk in. Your journal looks gorgeous with wonderful records of those beautiful flowers and then the delightful Paloma visiting and taking flight in the forest. Just to let you know she has arrived safely here, thank you for sending her to me beautifully packaged and ready for her uk visit. Huge hugs xxx
This looks like the perfect vacation! What lovely, sun-dappled pictures and Chum looks in his element too!I love the beautiful pages of your Nature journal. How desperately the world needs Paloma. Here in the UK we've had some heart-breaking events, but small acts of love and peace help so much with healing.Hate will not overcome Faith in the goodness of humanity, Hope for our future together on this beautiful planet and Love for one another. xxx

Dear Jackie,
It must have been wonderful camping there, in the middle of pines, rocks, and the sea. Such beautiful photos, and it is easy to see , that you all enjoyed it very much !
Your drawings and paintings are amazing, your nature journal will be a most beautiful memory of different places and flowers.
Thank you for showing sweetie. Hugs from Dorthe xx
What a wonderful visual tale of your unplugged time out, Jackie...it looks like you had a slice of heaven for your stay. I'm so impressed that you managed some creative time in there too...you ROCK! xo
Beautiful pic's and wonderful place to camp ,Chum was having fun for sure....
Refreshing, peaceful, gorgeous spot for camping. As always your art work is beautiful!! 🌺🌲
Great pictures. Looks like a relaxing place to make amazing art, and you did!!
Me again... just to answer your question about paper. I've mainly been using the large Canson XL watercolour pad, 9x12 and fairly widely available. Often on offer in Blicks (but maybe they're just NYC), and available in Michaels too. It's certainly not very expensive compared to lots of high-end watercolour paper, so you feel freer to make mistakes. One day I want to get some of the expensive stuff and see whether it makes as much difference as they say!

Sometimes it's nice to be unplugged for a while, Jackie. Your camp site looks idyllic - I bet Chum had the time of his life! LOVE your nature journal - you've created some beautiful pages there! What a peaceful setting for Paloma as well - I couldn't think of anything more tranquil. Enjoy the rest of your summer! xx
It sounds good to me to just clear your mind, it has got to be good. Brilliant to be able to share the trip with you even if it's only through the photos. Great caravan no slumming it here Lol! Oh and thanks for showing us that gorgeous Slipper Orchid, an absolute beauty best grown in it's natural habitat as seen here, I know I've tried! Thanks for the visits to mine too. You can come and sit in my garden any time you like. I had to grin when you called me 'A Hot Crafter' as it has been very warm in the UK which we are not used to so yes I have been hot but not for the reason you meant Lol! I must check Paloma out too. Take care my friend, Angela xXx
As always, trying to do a bit of catch up at my favorite blogs this morning, and I have to say this was my favorite stop! I so enjoy reading about your comings and goings, and this is right up my alley! I can almost smell the rich woods and the campfire! Your renderings are just beautiful...I think you have true talent, and I hope you are getting to work in that nature journal often! Loved seeing all your photos; I bet you wished you were back there now!Sending hugs your way; wish I could send some of this heat, too! Love!
Just catching up with Paloma's journey - what a wonderful camping trip you had and I can see that Paloma loved the experience as well! How nice to do some nature journaling too - your pages are lovely ! Julia xx
