Dresden Trim & German & English Scrap...a few of my favorite things

Gwen has done it again with a new challenge over at The Artist Tribe!
For this month of December,Gwen asked us to work with German and English Scrap and German Dresden Trim that is currently on sale in her shop.

This challenge was soooo much fun for me,because as you may know...I love to fussy cut and embellish and these gorgeous trims and scraps, are just perfect to create with!
There are no real step outs here with these photo, but of course,I did give you some tips on how I put these together!

I began with using this beautiful angel from Gwen's Vintage Vibe-Angels&Cherubs Scrap Sheet
I cut off the wings and then went to Gwen's Wondrous Wings Collage Download and picked out some new wings for this gal.
I also gave her a Christmas flower in place of her lilies, and a bit of German spun glass for her cloud.
Next task was to re-construct one of the German Dresden Ornate Ornaments into this angel's new headdress.
She looks a bit Art Deco to me~I like it!
A bit of Stickles on her stars
and the freshly fallen snow on her wings and headdress is Emerald Creeks Embossing Powder called Winter's Mistake.
(links for all products at the end of post)
and here she is with her new look
Next up is a little frame*,painted up with lovely shades of pink, dressed up with some Fran~tage' and snow.

added to that a sweet vignette of one of the birds from
I changed his season by adding snow to the branches and a bit to his body and onto the added winter greenery.

next I added some of the lovely
and here is my beautifully framed winter scene!
Gwen now has Dresden Holly in the shop as well~don't forget,15% off till December 31st!

I wanted you to see some of the Scrap and Dresden pieces I began with, before my alterations.
Where does your imagination take you when you see these?

Still working with the "Birds Of A Feather English Scrap"
I used another bird and a different substrate
The background I painted a brighter pink to which I added some glitter and then some crackle glaze, which I heated with the heat gun till it bubbled instead of crackling.
On the top layer,I used this Gorgeous shades of pink paper from

I added this beautiful English Scrap Bird to the center. After that,I glued some Dresden Myrtle and Dresden Daisy Borders, which I cut into individual flowers.
I will be using this beautiful ribbon for hanging my ornaments~Gwen wraps all of her orders with this, isn't it just lovely!

finally one more piece to share...
❄❅❆❄❅❆
of course I needed an angel paper doll to hang on this year's tree!
Isn't this Cherub darling?
Starting with the sweet blue winged cherub head from Gwen's Vintage Vibe-Angels&Cherubs Double Sheet English Scrap

this sweet girl's headdress and waist piece are again from one of Gwen's German Dresden Ornate Ornaments redesigned.
And her neck piece is actually a corner from the German Dresden Frame & Corners set
Add a few touches of Stickles and a few sticky gems...
along with her most beautiful Peacock Feather Sequined Patch skirt~exquisite!
My dolly is ready to take her place on the Christmas tree, and then into my art studio later! I think she is much too pretty to pack away until next year!
BTW,taking suggestions for names in your comments, please ")
Well,I do hope I have sparked some creativity in your muse! And I hope you are intrigued enough to go have a look if not have a shop at Gwen's Mixed Media online store!

How are your holiday preparations coming along? Hopefully everyone is enjoying this time of the year and getting plenty of snow! LOL
Thank you so much for visiting,as I know how much there is to do at this time of the year!
Huge hugs and wishes for peace & love,
Jackie

This is really pretty. I always have a soft spot for German scrap, and sometimes (often!) treat myself to a sheet at the local stationer's here. Your finished piece is just gorgeous! Have a lovely day, hugs, Valerie

Such fun little creations! I just adore scrap and metallic borders and use them as often as possible - but I don't create things from them as you have...and they're such fun! I have OODLES of this stuff just waiting for me to play - thanks for all the inspiration!(and that little pink frame would be hanging on my tree in a heartbeat! LOL).

Hi Jackie, seeing this has reminded me that I have loads of this scrap packed away somewhere in the loft must get them out and use them. They were really popular some time ago and then seemed to disappear. I love how you've used them. Sending big hugs, Angela xXx

I love what you did with these! In reality, I would love to be a fly on the wall while you make them. I would like to see you in action and how you make those choices, those individual decisions. Love the results, especially the crowns and the pink....but then you knew I'd like the pink.
