a very Fishy tale....

      Hello again!
This post is a follow up to a post I did about a couple months back, relating to my self and my art...
In the post I spoke of one of my earliest pieces that I had created; way back in 2nd grade with my Dad.
Many of you asked to see the plaque, believing it was a very fishy story! ")
and well here it is!

Looks like he has fared well all of these years!  I  only wish I had signed and dated it- this hung in my bedroom for the longest time                                        (till I was 18! lol)
My memory had it that we stapled it, but looks like I sewed it with some heavy duty string. No doubt my Dad taught me that also, as he was the one who did the hand sewing in our house- Mom used the machine ")

a little cut in the string, but all in all- a fine looking fish!
I think I should add the story to the back now...in case my someday grandchildren ever want to know who made this awesome piece of art!! ")

in case you were wondering...this is what I had to dig through to find my fish....

I finally found it in a bin marked~ family memories~ no easy feat- I'll tell you!  lol

Thanks again for coming by and leaving your comments-  I do hope you enjoyed the fish story follow-up!

I have been inside my studio like a mad scientist!
Working again freely with my right hand while the left is in it's own cast- Soon! I shall have both hands working as they used to with no pain! bwahahahaaaa!! (sorry too many Frankenstein movies as a kid!)
My stitches come out Monday and the right hand is healing very nicely-thank you all for your concerns-you make my heart smile")

Meanwhile, I have been able to finish up some lingering projects and play with a few others...
so here is a quick glimpse of a few things...more coming soon...
Remember these leaves awhile ago that I was painting for a black and white post?

Well, I always said I am no good at black & white-
                                         I need COLOR!
this gal is from my leftover paint....

Not sure where  I was going with this, but it turned out fun anyways          My inspiration was a calendar by Erte`

Yes, she is definitely on the manly side, but give a girl credit for trying! teeheehee

Through The Gate ~ reworking a previous piece

A few posts back I made this piece using stencils and stamps.
It was time to rework this piece and get my mixed media on-

                                                              From this...

With the additions of many embossing powders and micas and glitters, some ephemera, lots of more color by way of sprays and even some sand thrown on for added texture...
                                                   to this...

New wording added as well as some found treasures

Close up of the new lady of Useless Miracle-
            renamed as:
                                   THROUGH THE GATE

And for those of you who have inquired about the teal shelving in my studio- here it is in full color and what it looked like when I first found it at an estate sale-thanks for the interest! ")

Thanks for stopping and leaving your nice comments-  be assured, I have read and appreciate each voice! ") Jackie
