On with my samples for today!
To begin,I doubled backed my graphic picks from
the Holiday Icons set from GeckoGalz images
 and fancy cut them out
After gessoing the front and back of my chipboard pieces,
I used DecoArt Modeling Paste mixed with Chalky Finish paint
this was smoothed through a stencil.
Next,I distressed the background using metallic paint as well as ink on the edges
Here,I added hearts that I painted and cut from vintage lace
and then placed my Gecko Galz graphics
A few embellishments were added,hearts,wording,
LOVE chipboard
and ribbon for hanging!

Today's samples are still under the January theme, All That Glitters
A new addition for my Goddess Journal

This piece was made awhile ago while playing with new embossing folders so no photos"(
Painted a piece of cardstock with several coats of various blues
Then ran cardstock through Cuddlebug with  embossing folder.
Layered and wiped back several layers of acrylic paint.
Drybrushed with Quinachrindone Gold
Loosely trimmed around scalloped edges of embossed design
Generously coated both the page and the back of glitter wrapping paper (found at JoAnn's)
Pressed together, smoothed out and let dry
Next,I attached a piece of tulle like material(used old stash)with sewing machine in the center
Also added a few small areas of tac on the corners, using gold thread
The embossed piece was added on top and was also stitched into place.
Backed my lady image, from the Golden Splendor collection, with black cardstock and fancy cut before placing her.
Added strands of gold thread and a small scrap of same tulle as well.
Next,layered metal embellishments
then placed my goddess image on top using E6000 glue and weighted this till dry.

Next up are a few digital stamps by Gecko Galz that I printed out, colored with metallic pens and fancy cut.
Thinking maybe to use later in one of my journals.
still working on this one~he needs more sparkle!
Just look at the details of these digi stamps! Gorgeous!!!!
this butterfly I doubled backed and fancy cut out~ I think I have a place for this in my Art Barn!
Okay, couldn't resist getting out the Stickles and adding deliciousness to these!
My last sample today is a 4x4 piece that was created for my Gecko Galz DT avatar
this angel is also from the Golden Splendor Collection
I think I will add her to a page in my Goddess journal!

January happenings

Much ado around our homestead as of late.
Busy as bees we are!
My wonderful husband Riley, decided I should have the "Best Art Barn" around!
with lots of space to play and inspiration everywhere!
So...the barn contents had been packed up,shuffled around, stuffed here and there,
moved,once,twice,thrice,well you get it! building,painting,designing...ugh!

I'm exhausted just writing this!
 even Chum is exhausted!

How about a few progression photos
 where we started...
 hoarders trying to organize.
I joke about this all of the time,we have lightened the load dramatically since this beginning
cleaned up enough to have art friends over.
even a new back door and window added to replace the heavy old barn doors.
 A Loft!
  Brilliant!!
Store it up and out of the way!

sorry Chum to steep for you!
this window in the wall may come in handy!
BTW,this was here when we moved in...
 upcycled fencing used here
 going for the industrial feel
Even insulation and a new ceiling put up-by us!

Many of the materials used are repurposed.
from projects we built and took down, recycled items from Craig's List or items from our "Farmer stash" out back!
 beginning of a storage bin
More on the Art Barn another post.Stay tuned!

On to other fun news...I am a regular follower, admirer,in love her art, and, admittedly, have a girl crush on Tracy Verdugo! ")
The generous lady that Tracy is,she recently had a giveaway on her blog~and guess who won a spot in her Pattern,Color,Texture Mini Mojo class?!!!

 Yuppers!that's right~it was me!!I am so excited I can't stand it!Hip hip!!Thank you Tracy!
If you are not familiar with Tracy,do take a minute and check out her blog and artwork~
She is inspirational and  amazing!!

And finally,a share of our 1st real snow this season
this was pre-Blizzard 2016
we had no snow during that storm,it missed us completely!

and when it all cleared...

 look! a snow mushroom!
Thanks so much for your visit
you make my heart smile
with gladness!!
