Summer continues...

today I have a bit more to share from my summer so far...

My youngest sister had her wedding reception this past weekend and I offered to make the cake for her. It was not stress free I can assure you, but I was more than pleased with the results
my inspiration for the cake came from her June wedding which they had on the beach under a homemade driftwood arbor,at sunset,no less.
The seashells I made from white chocolate-and the sand is brown sugar. All edible except the real mini driftwood arbor I made!

the wording on the cake is from James Taylor's
 their favorite concert together.
Jude bawled her eyes out when she saw it and everyone loved it-phew! Done with cakes for awhile! heehee

Judy & Bill- it only took them 14 years to make it official! LOL

The fun continued on with posing for photos...
 this is me,my sisters,Judy and Jeanne~
Julie and Jayne and were not able to make it
here we have "sisters from other mothers" as we like to call them! heehee
cousins,sils and besties!

of course the guys had to have in on the fun!!
My handsome Riley is on the right and my cousin's hubby, Neil on the left
Judy rented cabins on Lake Ontario, same place they were married- we grew up camping up here so it was like coming home. The lake is beautiful but she was totally angry that day- no swimming for us- the waves were recorded at over 6 feet in height! Yikes!!!
BTW, this is one of my favorite places to beach comb- always great treasures!

and finally...
sneak peek of a page I am finishing up... do you recognize the stamps?

and one last photo for today
my beautiful Chum-soaking up the sunshine! Happy Dog!

Thanks so much for visiting and sharing in my adventures~
More artwork coming to you soon!
sunshine wishes coming your way,
Jackie ")

LOVED these photos so much Jackie. Your cake is sooooo AWESOME. Love the driftwood. No idea how you got your script so perfect... WOW. I would have cried too to have such a precious cake.

Guess what... our family was all "J's" too. I giggled when I saw all your names started that way!!! One time Mama got stopped by a policeman and we were all in the car. She introduced is all with our J names and then said... the dog is Jeremiah and this... she tapped the side of the car is Jezebelle. The man looked inside the car - looked at her and said... move your load of "J's" along Mam and don't JAM your pedal!!!!

Your family all look so much alike - lots of smiles that look just like your wonderful smile! Thanks so much for sharing.

Love your new project - wonderful colors. Xj.

Jackie, how did you do that amazing writing on the cake? It is so very beautiful. I love the colours of it too. No wonder your sister shed a little tear or two - that was such a labour of love. Best Wishes for the future to your sister and her husband. Chum is so photogenic he should have made a career in modelling! Once again this is a fantastic post with terrific photos of people, places and art. You are such a ray of sunshine! xx

An amazing, amazing cake Jackie - I'm not surprised that it brought tears to Judy's eyes - so much love and thought and absolute beauty... I've never seen one quite like it, with so much colour and full of ideas and details (genius white chocolate seashells!) - and of course I love all the piped words! How sweet that you are all Js - that made me smile, as did the family photos, and what a beautiful location for a wedding and for childhood holidays.

Love, love the dance page - stunning textures - and can't wait to see more of those florals. Great post altogether!

I admire your nerves, Jackie! Making a wedding cake must have been sooooo stressful - more than I could bear, I can assure you! It looks amazing as has all the "Jackie" hallmarks. I've just noticed that your Riley has the same smiling eyes as you! Chum is cuter than ever and it's so lovely to see you surrounded by friends and family!

Jackie, I thoroughly enjoyed this post, filled with good art, good food and good times! Your artwork is so fun and filled with joy! Your cake decorating skills amaze me and this cake surely was a labor of love--all that writing! I so love seeing your photos, that sofa is the perfect place to take the rabbit on the dog pile photo! Lovely to see you with your sisters and to learn you are all J's just like the Duggers. Wow, 5 sisters! Your parents must have had some nerves of steel! Sending hugs your way!
