do you recall the witch prototype I shared with you?
witch one you ask??
why this one of course....
My friend Jen came and picked up Hegitha, and was she ever excited and surprised!
Jen had seen the above painting ahead of time,so she probably was thinking something similar.
But you know how we roll as mixed media artists, sometimes(ok,most times)after layer upon layer, the real beauty comes out!
Here are a few pics of along the way,not many as I was lost in the process of altering the canvas! Bwwaaaahaahaahaaa
Adding vintage sheet music for texture and I had to add the same to the back of the canvas because it was so very fragile.
hey, what do you want for a 100 year old portrait
adding gauzy texture to Hegitha's hat as well as a bit of color and some stars that glow
at this point, hmmmmm,Mr.Neal says she's just not scary enough...
I am digging the nose !!
ROTFL~OMG! I crackle myself up!! heehee
lots of yummy color...better to cackle on my dear (oops crackle!)
Okay,time for a redo...
new coloring
a couple of warts
oh, let's not forget those hairs on the warts...
these eyes
a new do before her hat goes on
a bit of detail to her frock
and a glowing pentagram
and we have Hegitha,in all of her glorious color!!
I hope I have not scared you with my Hegitha canvas and maybe you could leave a message letting me know what you think!
As always,I love that you take the time to visit with me!
If you celebrate this day,or however you celebrate All Hallows Eve,I do hope it's a pleasant one!

Jackie...HOW DID I MISS THIS???? I am rolling around laughing at your post about all of the most minute details of your lovely witch! The hair in the warts is what did me in! Hysterical and totally creative as heck! Girl, you are one crazy artist! I love this gal. That dimensional nose is superb! Love the skin color and all of your spooky details. I also love your more recent witch you've posted. But this dimensional once blows me away! Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween, Jackie - and Hegitha - of course! I just love that nose! How inventive and original she is! You never cease to inspire and amaze me, my dear friend! xx

What a brilliant transformation Jackie, I love everything about it xxx
The 3D elements are genius! This must look pretty impressive in real life and more than a little scary!
Well she is pretty fabulous and the hairs on the warts!! Really great!!
Hegitha is fantastic, Jackie. Wow, she looks scary, with her long nose, and green face, the burning eyes, and warts:-)
Whom would have known there behind is a kind old lady, waiting to break out ,LOL
Hope your Halloween was great !!!

Oh, dear Jackie! If this isn't the best witch I've ever seen! I love the dimensional nose, the oozing, the hair on the wart. "There's a hair on the wart on the toad on the twig on the branch on the log at the bottom of the see!" Sing along with me, now! "A hair, a hair! A hair on the wart on the toad on the twig on the branch on the log on the bottom of the sea!" Oh, I digress...too much Halloween candy for lunch! The colors on this are just fantastic and all the creepy details are amazing! Love it! Hugs!
This is such fun Jackie! I just love how you added all the detail - and that dimensional nose is just hilarious. Definitely fun... and also spooky~!
Thanks so much for joining in our 'Make it Spooky' challenge at A Vintage Journey. Anne x
My goodness Jackie! Hegitha positively developed and grew before our very eyes into the spooky diva we see now. Love it! Thank you for joining us at A Vintage Journey xx
I'm generally on the side of the witches against the patriarchy and the church, but in Hegitha you've created a truly terrifying figure, definitely to be feared and fought against! Amazing hairy warts on that brilliant nose, and the way you built on and adapted the vintage photo is utterly inspirational... a fantastic post.

OOps, on niin upeita Halloween tyyppejä, että jos vastaan tulisivat, niin minua pelottaisi.Varsinkin se vihreä syylänenä!
Thank you for sharing the pic by pic transformation. I was amazed at the depth you achieved and the varied textures you employed to bring Hegitha to life again. (Great name, too.) What a wonderful creation!
