Jen had seen the above painting ahead of time,so she probably was thinking something similar.
But you know how we roll as mixed media artists, sometimes(ok,most times)after layer upon layer,the real beauty comes out!
Here are a few pics of along the way,not many as I was lost in the process of altering the canvas! Bwwaaaahaahaahaaa
Adding vintage sheet music for texture and I had to add the same to the back of the canvas because it was so very fragile.

at this point, hmmmmm,Mr.Neal says she's just not scary enough...

and we have Hegitha,in all of her glorious color!!

Jackie...HOW DID I MISS THIS???? I am rolling around laughing at your post about all of the most minute details of your lovely witch! The hair in the warts is what did me in! Hysterical and totally creative as heck! Girl, you are one crazy artist! I love this gal. That dimensional nose is superb! Love the skin color and all of your spooky details. I also love your more recent witch you've posted. But this dimensional once blows me away! Happy Halloween!

Oh, dear Jackie! If this isn't the best witch I've ever seen! I love the dimensional nose, the oozing, the hair on the wart. "There's a hair on the wart on the toad on the twig on the branch on the log at the bottom of the see!" Sing along with me, now! "A hair, a hair! A hair on the wart on the toad on the twig on the branch on the log on the bottom of the sea!" Oh, I digress...too much Halloween candy for lunch! The colors on this are just fantastic and all the creepy details are amazing! Love it! Hugs!

I'm generally on the side of the witches against the patriarchy and the church, but in Hegitha you've created a truly terrifying figure, definitely to be feared and fought against! Amazing hairy warts on that brilliant nose, and the way you built on and adapted the vintage photo is utterly inspirational... a fantastic post.
